Pandora

Everybody, meet my new baby - Pandora :)

I bought her as my birthday present this year. Remember my wishlist that I wrote earlier in the month? This is Item #2. I'm getting Item #1 via mail from the puppy soon!!!!

Thanks puppy for helping me set up and creating the network and everything! Goodness knows what I'll do if you weren't around...

I'll write a review on Pandora soon. Gimme a few days to navigate my way around her first...

Meanwhile, have fun looking at the pictures!

Pandora's Box

Slowly opening her up.... you don't want to unleash anything unnecessary...

Ahhhhhh look at her!!! My baby!!!!

Isn't she pretty? I seriously love the patterns on her cover... too bad her logo doesn't glow like Wyvern's

She's UBER reflective, which has a downside... that means finger prints everywhere!!! *sigh*

THIS is what you call glee :P

I'm in love.... I really am in love.....

email from dreamland

Today's the first Monday at work after a long long break.

I get to work and notice an email from the puppy and it reads :

Hi bunny!
How was traffic?
Hope it wasn't too bad.
I'm writing to you from my dreams! Cool huh!
Anyhow, I double checked my re-enrollment date for uni (before I went to bed) and found out it starts today! Oh noes!
So could you please give me a wake up call at around 10.30 a.m.? Thank you!

I'll hear from you in a bit.
Oh, one small favor could you sing the Sesame Street song to me when you call me to wake me? I want to wake up pretending I'm a muppet.

Love you.
<3
- Puppy.

I smiled.

So when 10.30am came, I called him and sang the theme song to Sesame Street :P

Love knows no boundaries or sanity

Flavour Shaker

Not entirely a new toy.... I actually bought this last year but took it home to try with mom and left it there... during my last trip, I brought it back since it was literally collecting dust in the store room *cringe* Sorry, Jamie!

What is this?
Well the Flavour Shaker is thing that Jamie Oliver invented to help you prepare food quicker... it's got this ceramic ball in and it helps to crush... grind... bruise your ingredients. It's really more for oils and marinades (well at least for me at this point it is...)

So what I did was this.... make a nice oil marinade with a good lug of olive oil and a small handful of rosemary leaves.... chuck in the ceramic ball and gave it a good shake

This is the before (L) and after (R) shot. I know it doesn't look that all different but it does.... it really does

Then I took the meat, stabbed it with a fork for a bit and massaged some salt and pepper for flavour....

And I chucked it ALL in a zip lock bag to marinade over night.

End result?

You be the judge *wink*

once in a lifetime

I remember the day I saw this tiny little obscure ad in the papers "Meet Takeshi Kaneshiro live in KLCC," one fine day in 2005.

I'm a huge stalker fan. I've been one since I was 11. How could I not go for this?

So I made mom go down all the way to KL with me that day... camped out at the Esplanade as early as 2pm under the scorching sun so that I could secure a close enough spot to see him.

Yes, I know it sounds uber lame. I was living in a dream then.

So yeah, anyways, I was still using my old Panasonic SV AV50. My first little baby. Such a wonderful digital camera.
Unfortunately it was only 2MP (quite high for THAT time and age of technology) and I was like 20ft away.... so these are all I got....

Yes that's him right there.... the picture does NO justice to him at all. You know how some stars look better on screen or in photoshoots and all but look kinda regular in real life? He looks EXACTLY the way he does on screen as he does in real life... *bliss*

A stalker fan going bonkers over a poster

Yes, this is how obsessed I was. I had to take a picture of my feet walking on the very same red carpet as he did... If I found a strand of his hair, I would take it home and frame it. I swear.

*In case you're wondering, I was cleaning up my pictures folder and found these pictures. So I decided to immortalize them :)

Leaving for Melbourne

No... not me...

Colin's younger brother Tristan is finally leaving the nest... so we ALL went to send him off at the airport.

We met up at Sentral... and guess what? It was too late for Jon and Tris to check in there, so we had to go all the way to KLIA...

#3 and #2. No, Tris isn't wiping a tear off... and Colin's bored with the train ride already...

On the 28 min super long train ride ALL the way to the airport....

Lucky him... he's got Jon to go with him....

The Poh boys (L-R : Jon, Tristan and Colin)

Hope he has fun there!

Valentine's Day vs Chinese New Year

Which would you choose? To spend the day with your loved one.... or to spend it with your loved ones?

I had to choose this year. Spend Feb 14 with my puppy and get what could only be described as worse punishement than what Kathy Bates dealt in Misery... or celebrate Chinese New Year as usual with all my relatives....

With the Chinese blood pumping through my veins.... Chinese New Year trumps Valentine's Day.

Besides, I see the puppy everyday... and as he said "Every day is like Valentine's Day for us... no biggie,"

So yeah, it was the usual stuff... went back to granpa's house on the eve of Chinese New Year.... went to the temple to do the usual prayer offerings....

I love how the offering papers always leave silver markings on my hands... it's like proof... "Here grandpa... I made these with my very own hands!"

The usual fare... always too much great food that you don't know where to start and where to end... and always end up overeating.... to heck with diets...

The morning of Chinese New Year... serving tea to my uncle and aunt... of course with good wishes... and in return, I get my ang pows! Yay!
Then it was back to Ipoh for more family gatherings.... this time for a barbecue at my uncle's house and endless rounds of mahjong....

That's me and two of my cousins.... can't tell who is who here though hahaha

It's really more of a spectator/consultancy thing than a game.... as we play... cousins or aunts/uncles will walk past and tell you "Keep this tile," or "Hey you've just won..." and most times, we'll have like 3 consultants per player and 10 spectators all together....

Thankfully.... I received a very pleasant surprise this year for Valentine's Day. I was out shopping on CNY eve (Feb 13) when a florist from back home called up telling me that she has a delivery for me... I told her I'll only be home in a few days time and she said alright, she'll deliver then...

My first Valentine's Day bouquet... also my first bouquet... ever...

It was from Andy. I thanked him and asked him why did he do it. He said I deserved to have flowers. I deserved to be happy. This is a way of him trying to make up for all those years. It was a very sweet gesture... albeit a tad too late...
I didn't tell the puppy who it was from. He asked, and I just said "I don't know, came to me without a sender's name..." and he teased me about having admirers....
Well whatever it is, it's just a bouquet... I've never received a dozen of red roses like this before... so let me bask in it... I deserve it...

Chiam See No 19

"Your future luck will be fluctuating. Sometimes you may become very rich and sometimes you may be reduced to poverty. At present you may not be successful in doing big business, but do not give it up, go on steadily with it and you will be successful in future. A sick person in your family will get well in a few days. When you become old, you will get much happiness. Your luck in doing other things is moderate."

Well, at least it's not a bad one! Happy new year everyone!

-4 days to go

Yup... a bit too much influence from the movie 500 days of Summer, I had made my own little countdown to the 500 days of Puppy & Bunny

UNFORTUNATELY - here comes paying the price of dating a producer/actor ... he has to be on set that day....

So yeah, the 500th day... will be a lonely day :(

another sign

So a friend just texted me

"Triumphant return to zouk. Partayyy tomorrow night, saturday 11pm. Phuture room. Can I count you in?"

First thing I did was to ask who else is going and that I'll get back to him. Then I told the puppy about it. The usual routine...

What amazed me was that the moment I saw the words "Zouk", "Partayyy" and "11pm" had put me off and I didn't want to go out

Puppy agrees.

HAHAHAHA we are SO getting old :P

But there's nothing wrong with wanting to stay in and just be cosy at home, right?

Yeah... that's called growing up

is it february already?

Geez time flies doesn't it?

I can't believe it's already February. I've got like 25 days more till I hit 28.

Gosh I can't believe that I'm going to be 28....

This is a entry full of "I cannot believe"s

Anyhoo... birthday wish list this year? Well, it's WAY shorter than what I thought of for last year because let's face it... I'm getting older and more practical about things.. *sigh* the things age does to you

SO *drumroll* let's here it for the babygirl's birthday wishlist for 2010!!!(p/s: feel free to pick any of them to get for me hahaha)

1. Mezzaluna (already told the puppy about it)

2. HP Mini

3. Shopping gift vouchers - La Senza, MNG, Zara, Forever 21, Vincci, FOS

4. Dresses - for every day wear.

5. Boots - plain black or tan, leather (NO suede), pointy toes, at least calf length and at least with a 2.5" heel

6. A holiday where my flight is paid for to either visit Bern, Megu or Mann :)

So yeah, it's MUCH shorter than last year's and much more practical, no?
